My name is Dr. Megan Dillman, and as many of you know, I have the privilege of caring for patients and hearing their personal stories and challenges. While this is incredibly rewarding, it has also made me more aware of my own health and future-especially when I hear about failed bladder slings, multiple attempts at pelvic floor therapy, and the countless women who resign themselves to using pads or incontinence products daily when other treatments have failed.

I don’t often share my personal story, but I believe it’s important for my patients to know that I have experienced these struggles firsthand. My journey began six years ago when I gave birth to my beautiful 8-pound, 2-ounce daughter. I was induced at 40 weeks and 2 days, and after 3.5 hours of pushing, I finally welcomed my little girl into the world.

However, along with the joy of motherhood came unexpected challenges. Incontinence quickly became my new reality. As my daughter grew, I found myself avoiding activities like running, jumping, or even playing on the trampoline because I had to carefully consider when I had last used the bathroom.

Seeking answers, I consulted a local OB/GYN, where I was diagnosed with a rectocele (a condition where the rectum bulges into the vaginal wall) and a cystocele (where the bladder falls into the vaginal wall). I was advised to do Kegel exercises during my daily commute but was told that pelvic floor therapy likely wouldn’t provide much improvement. That was discouraging.

Then, my husband, Rick, and I attended an Empower by InMode conference, where I learned about an FDA-approved treatment that directly addressed my symptoms. I was immediately intrigued and decided to become the first patient treated in our clinic.

After just one session of M8V and VTone, I noticed a dramatic improvement. No more rushing to the bathroom, no more urgency. I could feel the need to go, but I was no longer controlled by it-I could comfortably continue seeing 3–4 patients before taking a break. One day, I caught myself running into the grocery store and realized something profound: I wasn’t thinking about my bladder anymore.

Beyond that, my confidence has returned. My husband and I recently joined a gym, and before treatment, I would have been hesitant-worried about leakage during group classes. Now, after four of my six VTone treatments, I’ve had no issues. I can also feel a significant improvement in my rectocele and cystocele, if not a complete resolution.

I understand the hesitation many women feel when discussing these issues, but I want you to know: there is hope.
